Fabuwood Luna Desert Oak with a fluted island
Fabuwood's Luna slab door in Desert Oak, a fluted island, glass-front uppers with interior lighting and a full-height quartzite backsplash — a warm, modern kitchen open to the dining room.
About this kitchen
This kitchen replaced a closed galley and a separate dining room. Removing the wall gave us one long run of Desert Oak, an island with a fluted face on the dining side and a round table at the end of the room.
Luna is Fabuwood's slab door; in Desert Oak the grain runs vertically and the color sits between natural oak and driftwood. We paired it with a Taj Mahal-style quartzite that runs up the wall behind the range and sink as a single slab, with floating oak shelves on either side of the window.
Lighting does a lot of work here: LED strips inside the glass-front uppers, under-cabinet lighting, a brass-trimmed pendant over the island and a pair of sconces at the hood. The Café appliances in matte white with brushed-bronze trim tie the brass together.
