Porcelain and Dekton countertops in New Jersey — heat-proof, UV-stable, inside and out

Sintered surfaces — Dekton and large-format porcelain — are the newest countertop family and the one that solves the problems the others have: they take a pan straight off the burner, they do not etch, stain or yellow in sunlight, they come in 4 to 30 mm thicknesses for thin modern profiles and full-height slab walls, and they can go outdoors. We carry Dekton, MSI Stile, Caesarstone porcelain and Cosentino's new Ēclos in full slabs, priced by level with the rest.

What a sintered surface is

Dekton is sintered from twenty-plus natural minerals — the raw materials of glass, porcelain and quartz — under a 25,000-ton press and high heat, into a slab with almost zero porosity: it is UV-stable, fire-rated, and resistant to scratches, stains and thermal shock, so you can cut on it and set a hot pan on it. Large-format porcelain (MSI Stile, Caesarstone's porcelain collection) is fired clay with a printed, glazed surface and behaves much the same way: heat-proof, stain-proof, thin and light. Cosentino's Ēclos, new for 2026, is a mineral surface with INLAYR 3D-body design so the veining runs through the slab rather than sitting on top, with zero crystalline silica in the debut Eclectic Veins collection.

The brands on our floor

  • Dekton by Cosentino — carbon-neutral ultracompact surface, 4 mm to 30 mm, Matte, X-Gloss and Velvet finishes, 25-year warranty; Onirika, Pietra Kode and Kraftizen collections. For outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and the busiest counters.
  • MSI Stile — large-format porcelain slabs from the Edison, NJ distribution centre, in marble, stone and concrete looks, for counters and full-height walls.
  • Caesarstone porcelain — the 2025 porcelain collection from the quartz pioneer, in 2 cm and 3 cm.
  • Ēclos by Cosentino — new for 2026, 50–88 percent recycled content, heat-resistant to 428°F, 25-year warranty when registered. Ask to see the first slabs on our floor.

Fourteen Dekton colours in stock

Khalo, Nara, Marmorio, Laurent, Rem, Entzo, Neural, Awake, Arga, Taga, Trance, Lucid, Vigil and Limbo are in our warehouse in slab form and sold by the square foot — no need to buy a whole slab for a kitchen, an outdoor counter or a fireplace surround. See the stock Dekton colours.

Where porcelain and Dekton win

  • Behind the range as a full-height slab with no grout and no scorching: the Westfield kitchen has porcelain counters and a porcelain backsplash with a brass pot filler.
  • Outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and sunrooms — UV-stable where quartz is not.
  • Thin modern profiles — a 12 mm edge on a frameless kitchen; mitred to look thick where you want mass.
  • The marble look that never etches — printed veining in Calacatta and Statuario patterns.

What to know

The pattern on porcelain is printed on the surface, so a chipped edge shows the body colour — a mitred edge or a through-body product such as Ēclos avoids that. Fabrication needs a shop set up for it, which ours are. Sinks are undermounted or integrated; cut-outs are planned at templating. The comparison guide covers the trade-offs against quartz and stone.

Good to know

Questions we get

Can I put a hot pan directly on Dekton?
Yes — thermal-shock resistance is the point of a sintered surface. Quartz needs a trivet; granite tolerates heat; Dekton and porcelain are designed for it.
Does porcelain chip?
Edges can chip under a hard knock, and because the pattern is printed the body shows. A mitred edge, a thicker slab or a through-body surface such as Ēclos reduces the risk; chips can be filled.
Is Dekton the same as porcelain?
Related. Dekton is sintered from minerals under extreme pressure and heat; porcelain is fired clay with a glazed surface. Both are near-zero porosity, heat-proof and UV-stable; Dekton is the harder, denser material with the wider thickness range.
Can it go outside?
Yes — Dekton and porcelain are UV-stable and frost-resistant, unlike quartz. Outdoor kitchens and grill surrounds are a common use.
How is it priced?
By level with every other slab; the thin 12 mm formats and the premium Dekton collections sit at different levels, and the estimate lists fabrication and installation separately.
Can you replace my counters with porcelain?
