Modern slab kitchen cabinets in New Jersey — flat-panel doors, painted, wood, acrylic and laminate
A slab door is a single flat panel — no frame, no profile — and it is the door of every modern kitchen we build. The slab lines below run from Fabuwood's stocked Luna slim-shaker-slab and Luxe flat panel to Eclipse's acrylic and laminate Metropolitan, Adornus Manhattan, SoHo and Alusso, and NOMA Plane; the kitchens are slab kitchens we have installed.
Slab in wood, paint or engineered surfaces
There are three kinds of slab door and they live differently. A painted or stained wood slab (Fabuwood Luxe, Adornus Manhattan, Shiloh and Eclipse slabs in any species) looks like furniture and touches up like it. An engineered front — gloss or matte acrylic, high-pressure laminate, textured thermally-fused laminate, reconstituted veneer — is the European look: perfectly flat, consistent, wipeable, with matching edge banding; Eclipse's Metropolitan door and Adornus Alusso and SoHo are built this way. A slim shaker such as Fabuwood Luna or Echo reads as a slab from across the room while keeping a shallow frame — which is why Luna is in more of our modern kitchens than any true slab.
